The Football Mall of Fame Exhibition Came as a direct result of the success of the
Sportart Exhibition at The Forge Shopping Centre. The exhibition opened in February
1994, and was advertised as the First Half, which ran until the end of May 1994.
It re-opened at the end of June 1994 with many additional new exhibits, and was advertised
as the Second Half, which ran until November 1994. In February 1995 it again re-opened
and was billed as Extra Time, again with many new exhibits. The Exhibition closed
at the Forge in July 1995, and went on to tour extensively both at home and abroad.
Jim chose to take the Exhibition to Coatbridge, where he had launched his Sportart
Exhibition for its final Scottish showing before it toured. In its 6 week run in
Coatbridge it attracted 35,000 visitors.
Jim believes that much of the success of the exhibition was due to the tremendous
support he received from Football Clubs and Players throughout Europe. Many personally
attended the exhibition at various venues and others sent messages and signed photos
for inclusion in the memorabilia part of the Exhibition, which had come about as
a result of Players, Clubs and visitors alike bringing along personal items to add
to Jim's own collection. This helped to make the exhibition truly unique.
